FINE UNUSUAL WOOD & BRASS SPIRIT LEVEL - 8 1/2"

The wood is either rosewood or mahogany. Tough to tell. Very unusual and decorative cut outs on the plate which is unmarked. India ink dealer or maker markings on the bottom. I have often seen these markings on planes but first time on a level.
