This superb piano makers vise was found about 30 years ago in the Boston area mounted on its original bench. The top of the bench was in ruins so the owner rebuilt the bench without the vise. It is a original and all parts on the vise are numbered 13 but I cannot see a makers mark. I have owned the only known piano makers vise with a makers stamp and it was made by the G. A. WALKER MACH CO BOSTON. You can see it here.
The vise is in exceptional condition and with a light cleaning and oiling I have it working perfectly (email or text me for a short video showing how smoothly it operates). It retains most of its original japanning and all the original machining marks are still visible on exposed surfaces. It includes the backing plate which are rarely ever found.
