BEAUTIFUL "W PRESTON MAKER LONDON" MINI BULLNOSE BLOCK PLANE

I have never seen this configuration of a plane before. Very unusual form with the sloped brass front. Special order? Ca 1875. It is noted in BPM 3 that the William Preston firm was somehow connected to the Edward Preston tool making company.
