VERY RARE AND FINE BARNEY & SMITH PATENTED(?) PLANE - DAYTON OH

Fabulous plane of which only a few examples are known. This one came out of the Indiana, Ohio area. Locking "cap" is mahogany or rosewood. Elegant initial "R" stamped in 3 spots. Original Barton iron. One example is known to have existed in the Stanley model shop.
