UNUSUAL EARLY 18TH CENTURY MOLDING PLANE

Wonderful, early plane likely dating around 1710-1750. Measures a full 10" long and has an unusual, early wedge profile (partially sheared on the front) showing a slight relief on the backside. Appears to be yellow birch and has a steep molded dropped shoulder and flat chamfers. The makers stamp are very early stylistic initials LL with dots. I've seen many thousands of wooden planes and this to me stands out as a lovely, early molding plane.
