Imperial and metric gradations. 24", 4 fold. Wider legs than standard rules. Stamped 'THE C-S CO. PINE MEADOW CONN. U.S.A.'. Boxwood and full brass binding. Uncleaned as found with original finishes. Could not find this in any CS catalog online. Special order?
A very unusual variant. Deviates from other similar rules in the following ways:
- Configuration matches to but is not stamped a normal '83 1/2'
- Fully brass bound which is not standard
- Stamped 'M' and the metric gradations read right to left (English style)
- Early arch joint & caliper profile
- Very wide legs
- Retains its imperial gradations on the brass caliper slide despite being sandwiched by metric gradations on boxwood
- Made with only a single alignment pin which is intact
- the usual pair of inner alignment pins on the interior's boxwood faces were never put into this.
Very fine overall condition noting a 1/16" gap between the legs on the caliper side when closed. A rare opportunity. Top shelf.
