RARE EARLY PATENT LAMP WICK TRIMMER - PAT JUN 5 83

This is an oil lamp wick trimmer, US patent number 278,965, issued to J Holmes of Newark NJ on June 5th 1883. The cutter measures 2 1/2" in width and is pressured by a beautiful brass spring. Cutting action is similar to a guillotine. Beautiful and graphic.
