EXTRA FINE EARLY PATENT APPL'D R. HEINISCH TAILOR SHEARS / SCISSORS - 13 3/4"

Remarkable condition including the brass washers and nuts. Circa 1836-1859. 13 1/2" in total length with a 6 3/4" cutting edge. Stamped 'HERDER PHILA, PA' & 'PATENT APPLIED FOR' on one side with 'R. HEINISCH INVENTOR NEWARK N.J. U.S.A.' Inside stamped with a '6'. Fabulous. Shiny japanning is about 65-70% intact. The finest scissors I have owned.
