William Steers of Sherbrooke Quebec produced several incarnations of his basic and original patent planes. This one is the copy of his very first patent matching what is in the patent papers. Exceptional condition with 99% original japanning and crisp finishes. Double beaded front knob flawless and the whole frame is sharp. Very very likely the finest of the handful of these known. Found in his hometown of Sherbrooke. Absolutely top shelf.
