Remarkable plane appears to have been used once and put away forever. Shiny japanning and 100% original finishes on the rosewood. Sweetheart logo on the iron. Found with the number 4 and 78 planes I will be listing separately - NOS sweetheart era planes. I see one tiny casting flaw (3rd pic), but otherwise this is appears perfect. Has a 'DAMAGED' label affixed to the original label. The inspector was quite picky which speaks to Stanley's quality control. Untouched as found. Early style green box is rougher than the other two planes noted above but both ends present and could be restored. Was Stanley using up an earlier green box for this plane because it was a 'second'?
