FINE E RIVETT WATCHMAKERS LATHE WITH MOTOR, COLLETS AND EXTRA PIECE

Regular price $285.00 USD

Manufactured 1903-1912. Comes with everything shown . The (working) motor doesn't have to be shipped which would reduce the shipping cost to you (credited after purchase). It was all mounted on a very heavy piece of scrap cast iron including the added brass pulley. I removed for weight and ease of shipping. 14 of the proper collets are stamped Rivett. Stamped "E RIVETT  RIVETT LATHE MFG CO BOSTON USA" on the lathe end.

As per vintagemachinery.org "Edward Rivett's early career was spent as a watchmaker. In 1884, he and fellow watchmaker C. A. W. Crosby established the Faneuil Watch Tool Co., and introduced a watchmaker's lathe and, in about 1888, a bench lathe, along with small tools for jewelers and watchmakers. The lathes and staking tools were very successful and by 1892 the company had expanded into a much larger factory." In 1903 it was renamed as per the name on the lathe.
