BEAUTIFUL EARLY BRASS ROTATING SURVEYOR'S COMPASS

This appears as though it would mount onto a tripod or possibly another instrument of some kind as it has a threaded post on the bottom. The dial on the underside rotates the compass and there is a 360 degree scale around its circumference. Compass functions perfectly and has a locking mechanism. Total height is 6" and diameter measures 2 5/8". Exquisite, early, and in beautiful condition.
