EARLY DUTCH-STYLE COACHMAKERS CURVED BOTTOM PLANE / SCRAPER

Rare form coachmaker-style wide rounding plane or scraper.  About 7" in total length and a 1 1/2" iron stamped 'E. PARKER 3709'.  This Ebenezer Parker stamp dates ca 1820-50 before Ebenezer's sons came into the business (more info here.) The company was known to make cutlery but there are instances of several planes with irons made by them as well. Certainly though, this plane has a 'Dutch' look to it with graceful flowing lines . It was was found in the upper midwest Wisconsin area. Exceptional.
