Stunning looking saw with a massive flat button on the handle and in remarkable condition for its age. BRITTAIN HOOLE & CO operated from 1833-1837 only as per Simon Barley's exceptional book on British sawmakers. Plate is shiny and the brass back is smooth and clean with just very minor toolbox dings and abrasions. Handle tips are both slightly abraded. The teeth are also in fine condition and I suspect this was locked away, unused in a clean dry toolbox for the better part of almost two centuries. The saw is brighter and shiner than the photos show. Top shelf.
