EARLY TALL L. L. DAVIS NO. 3 INCLINOMETER SPIRIT LEVEL - 18" x 3 1/4"

Stamped 'L. L. DAVIS' ADJUSTABLE SPIRIT LEVEL' & 'PAT. SEPT. 17 1867. MARCH. 17. 1868.' This is the taller variant with double patent dates. It measures 3 1/4" tall and was manufactured briefly before these were shortened to 2 3/4". Very nice overall condition noting that the japanning is about 35-40% intact with an oil coating applied by the previous owner. Very clean top and bottom surfaces with good screws. The dial is excellent. No damage and a few touches of the original gilding barely visible in a couple of spots.
