I collected planes while I lived in Nova Scotia for well over 20 years (and still do as I spend about 2 months there every year). Over that time I have had 5-6 planes with identical characteristics to this one, and all of them originated in the Lunenburg/ South shore area. They were clearly all made by one hand, likely a skilled carpenter who supplied them to others in his shipyard or in the local area. They all had the chamfer/trace line around the main frame and wedge, the brass strike, a mahogany handle, and the raised bump on the handle. And doubtless there are a number of others out there. This is the second last of those I had. A beauty as a collector or user tool and in fine condition.
