9 15/16" long. I bought this about 30 years ago on the east coast of Canada. Has all the characteristics of the earliest documented planemakers: wide chamfers, molded shoulder, large wedge. Stamped 'I. BEATTIE' on toe. Very likely English. Undocumented maker. Wedge obviously sheared but very likely would have been a small, very round profile.
**All edge tools may need to be sharpened/honed before use**
