VERY EARLY J ENGLISH PISTOL GRIP DRAW GAUGE / LEATHER SLITTER

Joseph English commenced his business in 1826 in Newark. His business eventually grew into CS Osborne's large company and Osborne to this day lists 1826 as the year they were founded. 200 years ago! Gorgeous rosewood and brass and well used and worn with a wonderful patina. 100% uncleaned as found. Worn groove on the left side of the handle adds to its charm and will not affect use. Stamped J ENGLISH PATENT NEWARK on the arm and also stamped on the handle.
