REMARKABLE HAND CARVED STANLEY NO. 135 SMOOTH PLANE

This plane was found with another carved jack plane several years ago in New England. The latter being featured on the cover of the Brown Tool 52nd International Antique Tool Auction Catalog. 

It features a beautifully carved handle and tote. Floral motifs adorn one side and the other features patriotic American symbolism such as the star-spangled banner (stars & stripes), a drum, and a set of arrows. Truly an amazing piece of folk art.

The plane itself is a fairly rough example of a Stanley No. 135 Liberty Bell, but its beauty is in the details.
