Just found in a multi generation family workshop in the Lower Hudson River Valley near the Connecticut border. Almost identical to the original Knowles patent drawing from August 24 1827. Remarkable, little used condition showing all the original (very interesting) milling marks on the sides and sole. Very likely original handle and wedge as it was so little used. Thick 1/4" sidewalls as noted in the patent submission by Knowles and 15" long. No front knob as found. Extra fine overall condition noting only that there is a 1/16" x 1/2" nick out at the mouth.
DATAMP patent information.
