CIRCA 1774 M. HINDMARSH COMPLEX MOLDING PLANE

Matthew Hindmarsh is documented as a plane maker in York in 1774. The stamp on the toe of the plane matches the earlier mark shown in BPM2. The plane itself has very wide chamfers and a rounded wedge profile. It is a boxed complex molding plane that measures 2 5/16" wide. Excellent overall condition for its age noting about 15 old worm holes. Hindmarsh planes are rare.
