VERY UNCOMMON TYPE ONE WINTERBOTTOM PATENT STANLEY SQUARE

Total length is 6". Stamped with 'Patent June 29 1869'. Wood is in great condition and numbers and gradations are readable although they don't show up in the photos.. Some pitting on the blade but overall excellent condition for its age. First I have owned with this escutcheon.
