Simply the finest, most intricate and ingenious drawknife cover I have ever seen. And Josiah Fowler made outstanding edge tools in Saint John New Brunswick ca 1877-1920. This is a beautiful 10" drawknife with a deep curvature. The well formed cover looks like a light mahogany with brass caps on both ends (both sides) and a beautiful spring loaded locking hook with brass escutcheons. When pulled and turned 90º it releases from the knife allowing for removal. (It may be missing a small nut that would have made it easier to pull). Top shelf. Will remain in my private collection until sold.
**All edge tools may need to be sharpened/honed before use**
