EARLY PATENT CHENEY NAIL HOLDING HAMMER

13 1/2" long. Head measures 5" in length. This patent was an improvement on Henry Cheney's original by Arthur E. Taylor featuring ball bearings that secure the nails in. Likely the original handle and wedges as they appear to be the same shape as other early Cheney's I have seen. Cheney stamp is lightly struck and somewhat obscured but can make out some of it. Very nice condition otherwise. See photo of an example of what this looked like new!
