EARLY PATENT CHENEY NAIL HOLDING HAMMER

13 1/2" long. Head measures 5" in length. This patent was an improvement on Henry Cheney's original by Arthur E. Taylor featuring ball bearings that secure the nails in. I believe this hammer has its original handle and wedges as they appear identical to the mint example pictured and the head itself appears little used. Cheney stamp is lightly struck and somewhat obscured. Excellent condition otherwise.
