FABULOUS EARLY HANDFORGED HEAVY IRON LOCK

Beautiful early piece just found in a 4 generation warehouse in the Hudson River area of NY state. Highlighted by beautiful forged and filed details. Plate measures 7 7/8" by 6 1/8" and 15" along the latch. Spring is connected to the 'leaf' decoration plate. All rivetted. No key and it appears as though a mechanism to slide the latch when the key was turned may be missing under the cover. Spectacular nonetheless!
