Infill looks like mahogany. 13 1/2" long. Wood wedge differing from other Spiers planes that have the brass screw cap. I have not seen another one like this. I believe this to be amongst his very earliest production based on the simple lines of the sides, the screws holding the infill, and the wooden wedge with unusual bridge. J BUCK tapered iron. Excellent condition with large font SPIER AYR (no S!) clearly stamped on the bridge. If anyone has any further information on this plane it would be appreciated.
