BEAUTY HEAVY EBONY & BRASS MORTISE GAUGE

Lovely brass shank mortise gauge. Stamped in various places E J THOMBS. Dark ebony is checked on each side and I believe the heavy brass bottom plate was a later add-on giving this some great heft. As found, I have not attempted to clean it up.
