RARE EARLY 1865 PATENT TABER PLANE CO. COFFIN SMOOTHER

Stamped 'TABER PLANE CO. NEW BEDFORD MASS. PAT'D FEB. 28-65'.  Knurling on the locking screw is very fine. Uncleaned as found. This is the first I've owned.

Taber Plane Co. had a short-lived production history from 1866 to 1872. This patent features an interesting cast iron support behind the blade.
