A mystery Norris plane. 22" long with old, original perfect patina. The 2 1/2" iron is stamped 'NORRIS LONDON' on the front and 'ROBT SORBY SHEFFIELD ENGLAND' on the reverse. While this is mostly like the Norris No. A72, it lacks the integrated tote. Stranger, the lever cap is from a Norris No. 64 iron body jack plane and the brass locking screw is unlike anything I've seen on a Norris plane. Atop the adjuster screw reads, 'PATENT NORRIS LONDON No. 199198-22' which is the second adjuster patented by Norris. The body has been stamped in several places with 'L.R. COLLETT' and the edge chamfers seemingly match the standard A72. This is a very interesting plane found in a collection with a number of other standard, catalogued Norris planes.
