VERY UNUSUAL CA 1800 T. CAULDWALL STEPPED RABBET PLANE - 3/8"

I have owned this for over 30 years...Love everything about it including the patina, the age, and the wedge profile. Very wide chamfers and clear stamp. Cauldwall continued Darby's planemaking business which began circa 1750. Stamped 'INCH 1/4'. Possibly modified?
