OUTSTANDING THREE-FOLD BOXWOOD & IVORY J BUCK ENGINEERS RULE CA 1850

By far the finest rule I have owned. Clearly stamped 'J BUCK 124 NEWGATE ST & WATERLOO ROAD LAMBETH LONDON'. It has elaborate charts and scales on one side. One chart has the headings D, L, S & D. Also stamped 'GIRT LINE' along the bottom edge. Beautifully detailed with german silver, ivory and boxwood. Has the rare ivory 'notepad'. Very fine condition. 

Joseph Buck was a saw, file and tool maker based out of London and his working dates at Newgate were ca 1850.
