SUPERB TYPE 2 STANLEY 46 SKEW BLADE PLOW PLANE

A lovely early example of Traut's patent Stanley 46 plow plane. This was the first model that was manufactured on a larger scale. Any pre-type 2 46's are very very rare. They don't get much better than this as the rear handle is near perfect with no chips and a clear Traut's Patent stamp. Japanning is 85%+ and it has perfect, uncleaned patina. Complete with 9 cutters in IOB. Even the key added to the cutter box is dated 1880. Manufactured 1874-5 ONLY.
